Malpighia glabra known as the Barbados cherry or acerola. Native to the southern part of North America, Central America and northern South America.
Acerola is grown in many tropical countries, such as Madagascar and Brazil. Fruit appear after 3-4 years of planting the seeds.
It is an evergreen shrub or small tree up to 6 meters in height. In hot climates acerola blooms and bears fruit all year round. The fruits have a delicate, red skin and resemble cherries in appearance and flesh texture.
Dissolve ¾ teaspoon acerola extract powder in warm water, fruit juice, yogurt or a smoothie and drank once daily.
Do not exceed the recommended dose. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet.
